Update: I got to watch a little bit of the game last night, and was pretty impressed by justin.tv. I’d definitely recommend checking it out if you’re up. The Giants won the game, 6-4, taking a 2-1 lead in the series. Giants starter Tetsuya Utsumi looked pretty good when I was watching, he was able to throw all his pitches for strikes.
You can check out Game 4, same bat-time, same bat-channel.
Game 3 of the Japan Series is today starting at 6:15pm JST. If you’re a night owl like me you can perhaps check out this channel on justin.tv to watch it on and chat with the community at JapaneseBaseball.com.
If you miss it, Baseball Reference has a wiki page devoted to this year’s Series.

Sanspo reports that Yokohama is looking to acquire two Korean players, SK Wyverns outfielder Lee Jin-Young and Doosan Bears pitcher Lee Hye-Chun. According to the articles, Lee Hye-Chun is a fastball/slider lefty with a three-quarters motion, while Lee Jin-Young is a steady defender with gap power.

This off-season they’re looking for quality rather than quantity from their foreign roster. Attracting Korean players seems to be business driven as well: “Now Korea is a big market. This time we definitely want to acquire a player from Korea,” said the team official scouting Lee Hye-Chun.

According to Nikkan Sports (Japanese), Shingo Takatsu has signed a deal to pitch for the Woori Heroes in the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO). Shingo had signed a minor league deal with the Cubs, but was released during spring training.
I kind of thought Shingo was washed up before he joined the White Sox a few years ago and he proved me wrong, at least for a season. Here’s hoping he has a little more left to contribute in Korea.
