Japan Baseball Weekly Podcast
This weekend I had the pleasure of filling in for Jim Allen as a host of the Japan Baseball Weekly Podcast. You can download here, from the top of the list.
John Gibson and I had to contend with the head cold I’ve been suffering, time zone differences and flakey Skype performance, but we battled through and had a great discussion about Lastings Milledge and the Yakult Swallows, the juiced ball controversy du jour, and the state of the Pacific League. I hope you’ll enjoy listening to it.
Thanks John for having me on! I’m looking forward to taking part again!

Patrick, thanks for sharing! It was great to hear you on the podcast!
I had a question regarding the Fighters’ Yuki Saito. I don’t get to watch much baseball, but from what I saw, he wasn’t very good again this season and I believe he was demoted. What are your thoughts on Saito? Is it time to give up on him?

I’m not a fan of Saito, I’ve found him overrated as a college player and as a pro. I think he can be a serviceable bullpen/back rotation arm, maybe a guy that gives league average 80-100 IP per year. I don’t think it’s time to give up on him yet, but my expectations have always been lower for him.
