Note to SoftBank: Get McPherson
The SoftBank Hawks have been looking to import a power hitter for quite some time now, and the guy that should be at the top of their list is freely available. Dallas McPherson was released by the Marlins on April 1 after clearing waivers and failing to attract a trade partner. Takeuchi-COO, if you’re reading this, sign McPherson and pencil him in at 3rd base.

I read somewhere that he may end up with the New York Yankees.

I thought there was a limit to the # of foreign players allowed on the team. The Hawks have 5 right now (4 pitchers and 1 position player).

There’s no limit to how many foreign players a team can have under contract, but there can only be four on the active roster and three in the game at the same time. Adding McPherson would cost another foreign player playing time, but there’s no rule against it. One of the guys they have under contract will have to be left off the active roster as it is.
