Site Update

» 29 September 2008 » In NPB Tracker »

Occasionally life gets in the way of hobbies, and last week was one of those times for me. A hellish week at the office and a planned home move have placed writing NPB Tracker squarely on the back burner. It’s been a busy week in pro yakyu too — from Oh’s retirement, to Seibu clinching the Pacific League crown, to Hisashi Iwakuma winning his 20th — and I’m hoping to get caught up on it in a couple days.

A look at what’s ahead on NPB Tracker:

  • Recent events
  • Sawamura Race: Darvish vs Iwakuma
  • Pacific League playoff match-ups

You can’t do this to us. NPB Tracker is where we get our non-MLB baseball info. This is a cool site, by the way.

I expect Iwakuma’s 20 (and his great comeback story) will be enough to tip the scale in Iwakuma’s favour. But I guess what’ll happen when the votes are cast.

I thought so too, but Darvish is up to 16 wins and is just ahead on era, so it’s getting interesting. Both guys deserve to be recognized for their phenomenal seasons.

In my mind it is clearly Darvish because of his substantial lead in other key categories while playing in a couple of games less than Iwakuma………CG’s is a big one (10 vs. 5), K’s (More than 50 more K’s).
